HCSM式は、Vergnaud(1974)の考えを取り入れたKayne(1994)の関係節構造に近いものがあるように思う。

右辺『s(C,'you met')』は構造を成す。
式全体『左辺{boys -> s(the,x)}と右辺{s(whom,'you met')}』は領域を成す。

theはCP全体ではなく、boysだけを管轄し、節{C you met t}にも結果的にその力が浸透する。
