@One of my childhood memories is answering the door to an encyclopedia salesman.
AOn more than one occasion, the salesman would spend a lot of time with my parents describing the importance of having a set of encyclopedias in the house, especially for school-aged children.
BIn those days, encyclopedias were a big business.
COne set cost hundreds of dollars and consisted of about 30 volumes.
DIn the 1980s, the total weight of the most famous one, Encyclopedia Britannica, was over 50 kilograms.
